Pastor Damon Soper

Damon grew up in Centerville, Indiana where, along with a love for sports, the roots of his faith were established at Centerville United Methodist Church. Upon completion of high school Damon went off to college earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Marketing from Indiana University. After college he began a career in the golf business becoming a PGA professional. Eventually his career brought him and his family back to his hometown area as the director of golf for the city of Richmond, where they began attending his childhood church. It was there that Damon answered God’s call to the pastoral ministry. From there Damon would begin serving as a pastor while starting his studies at Asbury Theological Seminary, completing them in 2008 and becoming an ordained elder in 2013.

Along this journey Damon was blessed to serve as pastor for churches in Aurora, Moores Hill, Brownstown, and Logansport Main Street UMC, prior to joining the Center Chapel team. Damon and his wife Debbie were married during their early college days and have two daughters, Sarah who lives in Indianapolis and Katelyn who lives in Columbus, Indiana. They truly enjoy their three grandsons, Elijah and Noah, and Henry, and love any opportunity to spend time with them. Along with their family and various sports, as well as their reading, study and ministry pursuits, Damon and Debbie enjoy about any outdoor activity especially camping, hiking and bike riding. Damon and Debbie are truly excited to join their new family here at Center Chapel—joining with us as we together put our faith in action…inside out.
